This is my Springfield XD40 Tactical pistol. I was bored and thought I'd take some photos; this just happened to be a combination away.

Probably a good time to leave my 2 cents on why I favourited this. A sidearm under heavy contrast, what's not to like?

Haha! Thanks. I'm gonna try again tomorrow with some more consistent lighting. Hopefully I get something better.

The grip looks defiant from the standard model. Are you a gunsmith.
:iconill0gical:
Stippling a polymer grip like this takes time and skill... Neither of which I had. Luckily, a friend of mine from a local police department does this type of work as side-jobs.

I know a lot about guns, but I don't think building an AR-15 from parts makes me a gunsmith by any means.

Normally with a stock XD (and I'm guessing XD-m) grip, once your hands get sweaty or wet, you can't get a good grip. Stippling basically makes the grip act like Velcro to your hand. It does chafe a bit if you carry concealed without an undershirt though.

Well he did a hell of a job. And a ar15 is easy to bled.

Yay for XD40's!

I love mine. Getting the grip stippled was the best modification. The who did it for me refers to it as the "Godzilla Grip" :-)

Stippled voids factory warranty though doesnt it? lol. I was thinking of doing something similar to a few of my polymers but my gloves usually keep them firmly in my grip.
